Things You Can Inspect as a Homeowner If Your Home is Hit with Hail

First, if your home is hit with hail consider examining these four items to see if they have damage.
Gutters and Downspouts: While it may not always be the case, but often times is, check to see if your gutters or downspouts have visible dents. If you do see signs of dents, chips it’s possible that your has damage as well.
- Siding and Window Sills/Castings: Similar to inspecting your gutters and downspouts, take a look at your siding and window sills for dents, dings, or any other signs of impact. Also, if applicable take a look at exposed metal surfaces such as the metal fascia on your roof eaves.
- Air Conditioner or Other Outdoor Items: A not so obvious component to consider, make sure you don’t forget taking a look at Air Conditioner for visible damage such as dents and dings. Also, if you have any other outdoor items make sure you inspect those as well. Both are good indications that your roof may have damage too.
-Deck and/or Painted Wood Surface: If you see visible damage to your deck or any painted wood surfaces it’s quite possible your roof sustained damage as well.
